After analyzing the two samples sent to the laboratory, the results were confirmed using real-time RT-PCR methodology.

The ministry also stressed that the result reinforces the need for the adoption of continuous use of masks, constant hand hygiene and the use of alcohol gel.
Suspicious cases in SC
The State Department of Health (SES) investigates four possible cases of reinfection by coronavirus in Santa Catarina. The samples have already been collected and sent to Rio de Janeiro for analysis.
As they are still under investigation, the SC Epidemiological Surveillance Directorate (Dive-SC) did not provide further details on the cases or the deadlines for the test results.
