Santos paid the players today (8) around R $ 2.2 million in overdue prizes. The values were related to the popular “bug” by matches of the Brazilian Championship and Copa Libertadores.
The amount had been delayed for months, but the board made an effort to update the decision before tomorrow (9) against Grêmio, at 7.15 pm, in the rival arena, for the quarterfinals of the Copa Libertadores.
Still, Peixe is far from catching up with the cast. Some athletes even had up to four months of delay in image rights. The portfolio securities (CLT) of the last month have not been paid in full, leaving 30% still to be settled.
Some of the amounts must be settled with the amount approved by the Deliberative Council of Santos in the last meeting, anticipated by the São Paulo Soccer Federation (FPF) in the order of R $ 8 million. The condition for approval was that the amounts be used to pay the remaining 30% of the CLT of the last month, the months of July and August for the expired image right, in addition to R $ 2.9 million for the payroll that expires in this month and R $ 1.8 million for the thirteenth salary.
