Brazil has 177,400 confirmed deaths from coronavirus until 1 pm this Tuesday (8), according to a survey conducted by the consortium of press vehicles based on data from state health departments.
Since the balance of 8 pm on Monday (7), two states have updated their data: CE and MS.

On Thursday (13), at 8 pm, the balance indicated: 177,388 deaths from Covid-19 since the start of the pandemic, 426 in the last 24 hours. With that, the moving average of deaths in Brazil in the last 7 days was 603, highest recorded since Oct. 10 – that day, the average was 604. The variation was + 23% compared to the 14-day average, indicating upward trend in deaths for the disease.
In confirmed cases, since the start of the pandemic 6,628,065 Brazilians have had or have the new coronavirus, with 25,123 of those confirmed on the last day. The moving average of the last 7 days was 41,684 new diagnoses per day. This represents a variation of + 37% in relation to the cases registered in two weeks, which indicates upward trend also in diagnoses.

This comparison takes into account the average number of deaths in the last 7 days until the publication of this balance in relation to the average registered two weeks ago (understand the criteria used by G1 to analyze pandemic trends).
It is worth mentioning that there are states in which the low average number of deaths can generate large percentage variations. In Acre, the average changed from 1 to 2 after 14 days, resulting in a 117% variation. In Rio Grande do Norte, which has the highest increase indicator among the states (+ 152%), the number went from 3 to 8. Moving average data is generally in decimal numbers and rounded to facilitate presentation of the data.
