Accused of robbery, Alex de Souza was attacked by security guards at the Guaicuí supermarket, in the city of Várzea da Palma; Client tried to film the assault and was prevented by an employee and security camera footage shows that the young man did not steal anything edit
Forum Magazine – Less than a month after the brutal murder of João Alberto, a black man beaten to death by security guards at a Carrefour in Porto Alegre (RS), this weekend there was another case of assault on a supermarket allegedly motivated by racism in the city of Várzea da Palma, in the north of Minas Gerais.
Alex Júnior Alves de Souza, 28, testified before the police, still in the health unit where he was treated after the beating, who was accused of stealing a boot by a security guard at the Guaicuí supermarket. The owner of the market, then identified as Rubens, allegedly appeared armed and dragged him, along with other security guards, to a room in the establishment. The attack occurred at the scene.
As the young man was dragged by security guards to beat him, a supermarket customer tried to film the scene and was detained by employees. “Today you have to film everything, they kill the easy, easy person … You can’t do that, you killed Carrefour like that,” said the woman in the recording, before being interrupted.
