TV Globo found that, on Monday, the executive secretary of the ministry, Elcio Franco, and legal technicians from the portfolio met with representatives of Pfizer.
Until then, the federal government had announced only a partnership for the research and national production of the vaccine developed by the University of Oxford, in the United Kingdom, and the pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca.
According to the governor of Piauí, Wellington Dias, a meeting between the governors and the Minister of Health, Eduardo Pazuello, is scheduled for this Tuesday (8) to discuss the vaccination plan for the population.
On Monday, The Washington Post reported that Pfizer told the United States government that it will not be able to provide the country with additional doses of the vaccine until June or July next year. This is because, according to the newspaper, there are requests from other countries.
