After an increase in the number of cases of the new coronavirus, the Government of Paraná published a new decree on Thursday night (3). The document is valid for 15 days and can be extended.

Among the measures is Prohibition of the sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages in public or collective spaces from 11 pm to 5 am, as well as in any commercial establishment.

This decision accompanies the curfew in the same period, which began to rule from Wednesday (2).

The decree also prohibits the holding of social gatherings and face-to-face events with more than ten people – Children under the age of fourteen are excluded from this count.

The new restrictive measures were developed in conjunction with the 29 cities that make up the Association of Municipalities of the Metropolitan Region of Curitiba (Assomec).

Based on this document, each city council will draw up its own decree, obeying local peculiarities, but the tendency is to follow the regulations that mark the capital.

The celebration of religious services can take place in the state, provided that the space for the public has a maximum occupancy of 30%, ensuring a minimum distance of two meters between people.

However, this measure only starts on Monday (7) to give churches time to organize on the change.

The government recommends that the population participate in religious acts at home, individually or as a family.

This new decree also establishes that teleworking is adopted for compatible functions within the scope of the state administration.

New coronavirus in Paraná

A bulletin released by the Secretary of State for Health (Sesa), this Thursday (3), indicates that Paraná reached 291,244 confirmed cases of the new coronavirus. The state registers 6,259 deaths from the disease.

There are registered deaths from Covid-19 in 337 cities, out of 399 in the state, according to the report. All the municipalities of Paraná have cases of the disease.

Sesa reported that 1,163 patients diagnosed with Covid-19 in Paraná are hospitalized, 870 by the Unified Health System (SUS) and 293 by the private network.

According to the Municipal Secretariat of Health of Curitiba, ICU beds for adults with suspected cases or Covid-19 by the public health network have a 94% occupancy in the city, considering that there are 315 hospitalized patients out of a total of 334 places. .

According to city council data, five of the 10 ICU beds offered are occupied, with an occupancy rate of 50%. The municipality reported that the general occupancy rate for ICU beds by the SUS is 93%.

According to the city, of the 453 nursing beds for adults and children with suspected or diagnosed Covid-19, 386 are occupied. The occupancy rate is 85%.

Also according to the municipal administration, the capital registered 82,647 confirmed cases of the new coronavirus and 1,788 deaths since the beginning of the pandemic.
