Brazil has 170,194 confirmed coronavirus deaths as of 8 a.m. Wednesday (25)according to a survey by the media consortium based on data from state health departments.
Since the balance of 8 pm on Tuesday (24), 2 states have updated their data: CE and GO.
See consolidated figures:
- 170,194 confirmed deaths
- 6,122,527 confirmed cases
On Tuesday at 8:00 p.m., the balance indicated: 170,179 confirmed deaths, 638 in 24 hours. As a result, the moving average of deaths in Brazil in the last 7 days was 491. The variation was + 54% compared to the average of 14 days ago, indicating an upward trend in deaths from Covid.
In confirmed cases, since the start of the pandemic 6,121,449 Brazilians have had or have the new coronavirus, with 33,445 of those confirmed on the last day. The moving average in the last 7 days was 30,350 new diagnoses per day, the largest brand since September 20. This represents a variation of + 34% in relation to the cases registered in two weeks, and also indicates an upward trend.
The transmission rate (Rt) of the new coronavirus (Sars-CoV-2) for this week in Brazil is the highest since May, according to data from Imperial College London, United Kingdom.
Ten states showed an increase in the moving average of deaths: RS, SC, ES, MG, RJ, SP, GO, MS, AM and CE.
Since last Thursday (19), it has been necessary to remember the problem that occurred in the national system of death records and the case of Covid-19 of the Ministry of Health, which began on November 6. Several states reported difficulties accessing the e-SUS and published incomplete data or even had no daily updates for a few days. This was the case of SP, the state most affected by the pandemic in absolute numbers, which did not register deaths in 6 of the 8 days from that date.
The absence of updates and incomplete figures continue to affect the comparison for the analysis of upward trend, stability or decrease in deaths from Covid, in the affected states and in Brazil. As of Friday (27), this impact will no longer be so significant. It is also worth mentioning that there are states in which the low average number of deaths can cause large percentage variations. Moving average data is generally in decimal numbers and rounded to facilitate presentation of the data.

- In stability, that is, the number of deaths did not decrease or increase significantly (10 states + DF): DF, MT, PA, RO, BA, MA, PB, PE, PI, RN and SE
- Fall (6 states): PR, AC, AP, RR, TO and AL
This comparison takes into account the average number of deaths in the last 7 days until the publication of this balance compared to the average registered two weeks ago (understand the criteria that G1 uses to analyze the trends of the pandemic).
