Fernando Vannucci, presenter, dies at 69 in São Paulo | Saint Paul

The presenter and journalist Fernando Vannucci died at the age of 69, in Barueri, in Greater São Paulo, this Tuesday afternoon (24). Vannucci has four children.

According to Fernandinho Vannucci, the presenter’s son, this Tuesday morning he was ill at home and was taken to the hospital.

According to information from the Municipal Civil Guard of Barueri, Vannucci was transferred to the central emergency room of the city, where he died.

Last year, Vannucci suffered a heart attack and was admitted to Oswaldo Cruz Hospital, where he underwent coronary angioplasty. He even got a pacemaker.

Born in Uberaba, Vannucci began working in radio as a teenager. In the 1970s he joined TV Globo, in Minas Gerais, and later he was transferred to Globo do Rio de Janeiro. In the station he presented newspapers such as Globo Esporte, RJTV, Esporte Espetacular, Metas do Fantástico, among others.

While at Globo, Fernando Vannucci covered six World Cups: 1978, 1982, 1986, 1990, 1994 and 1998 and was marked by the creation of the slogan “Alô, você!”.

He also worked on TV Bandeirantes, TV Record, Rede TV. Since 2014, he worked as a sports editor at Rede Brasil de Televisão.
