Paraná Research Research, hired by the Institute itself, points out that Sebastião Melo (MDB) is ahead of Manuela D’Ávila (PCdoB) in the second round of the dispute in Porto Alegre.

Considering the total votes, Melo has 53.1% and Manuela 32.9%. White and null add up to 7.8%, while 6.3% said they did not know or did not respond.

Rejection of candidates

The Paraná Polls poll also notes that 49.6% of Porto Alegre voters say they would not vote for Manuela D’Ávila at all. 25% said they could vote for the candidate, while 23.1% said they would definitely vote for her. Another 0.6% said they did not have enough knowledge about Manuela to comment, while 1.6% said they did not know.

For Sebastião Melo, the rejection rate is lower: 31% of voters said they would not vote for him for the mayor of Porto Alegre. 29.3% said they could vote for him, while 37.1% said they would surely vote for him. Another 0.9% stated that they did not know him well enough to give an opinion and 1.8% did not know him or had no opinion.

Paraná Research Methodology Research in Porto Alegre

Paraná Polls listened to 800 voters in Porto Alegre between November 17 and 19, 2020. The survey, contracted by the Institute itself, has a confidence level of 95%, with a margin of error of 3.5 percentage points. The survey is registered in the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) with the identification RS-06700/2020.
