as if the sky had collapsed on the family of Paulo Rezende Vilela Neto, the Uberaba medical student, who was killed last weekend in Paraguay. His body was found charred in the trunk of the car with which he worked as an applications driver.
Ccero Rezende, Paulo’s father, says he is unfounded and hopes that the killers will be arrested and sentenced to pay for the crime they committed.
The Paraguayan police still have no leads on the crime. For now, there is no possibility of crime. The policemen work with various hypotheses, such as revenge, involvement in drug trafficking, which seems to be the least likely, and smuggling. About 20 people have already been heard, with whom Paulo lived.
Paulo had been in Paraguay for 10 years and from the beginning he had to struggle to stay in school. So I worked as an application controller. Most of his income came from taking Brazilians to study in Paraguay, which was worth a commission.
Paulo was in his last year of medicine. He was due to graduate in July of next year. The car in which he was found and in which he was working belonged to a friend, who was no longer in Paraguay. He returned to Brazil at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, leaving the vehicle with his friend.
The family hired a lawyer to monitor the case and be the liaison between the Brazilian embassy and the Paraguayan police. Paulo’s body will be cremated and the ashes will be given to the family.
