Vale started, on Wednesday (18), the emergency protocol at level 2 of the Norte / Laranjeiras Dam, from Brucutu Mine in Baro de Cocais, in the Central Region of Minas. The municipal and state Civil Defense must begin, in the coming days, the withdrawal of the residents of the Self-Rescue Zone for this structure, estimated at 34 people.

The removal of families will be done in a scheduled for Civil Defense, with the reception of families by Vale. In a note, the company guaranteed that “it will provide all necessary assistance to the families until the situation returns to normal.”

It is not yet known if there is a relationship with rain recent. According to Vale, dam does not receive tailings and the raising the emergency level preventive. Although it notified the alert, the miner says there were no relevant changes in terms of the safety factors of the structure.
