Leaders of the countries of the Brics (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) met virtually this Tuesday to outline their strategy for security and economic cooperation until 2025. Under the theme BRICS Alliance in the interest of global stability, common security and innovative growth, the summit also addresses the creation of an early warning of infectious diseases and the production of vaccines against coronavirus. What marked the virtual meeting was Jair Bolsonaro’s threat to expose those who buy illegal timber from Brazil – the Brazilian president simply forgot to mention that his government has relaxed enforcement against this practice. Meanwhile, in the political-electoral sphere, a survey by the RealTime Big Data institute commissioned by CNN Brazil released this Tuesday points to Covas with 60% valid voting intentions (without counting targets and nulls) and Boulos with 40%. In Rio, Eduardo Paes (DEM) appears with 71%, well ahead of Marcelo Crivella’s 29% (Republicans). The Government of São Paulo extended its quarantine throughout the state on Tuesday until December 16.
