See consolidated figures:
- 166,078 confirmed deaths
- 5,876,791 confirmed cases
On Monday, at 8 p.m., the balance indicated: 166,067 confirmed deaths, 256 in 24 hours. As a result, the moving average of deaths in Brazil in the last 7 days was 490, again approaching the household of 500. The variation was + 34% compared to the average of 14 days ago, indicating an upward trend in deaths from COVID-19.
In confirmed cases, since the start of the pandemic 5,876,740 Brazilians have had or have the new coronavirus, with 16,150 of those confirmed on the last day. The moving average in the last 7 days was 28,711 new diagnoses per day, a variation of + 59% compared to the cases registered in two weeks. This percentage is the highest since June 3.
Sixteen states plus the Federal District showed an increase in the moving average of deaths: PR, RS, SC, ES, MG, SP, DF, GO, MS, MT, AC, AP, RO, RR, TO, PE and RN.
It is worth mentioning that there are states in which the low average number of deaths can lead to large percentage variations. In RR, for example, which had the highest indication of increase, the moving average of deaths jumped from 0 to 2 in two weeks, resulting in an increase of 1,000%. In RN the average was 2 and it changed to 6, which resulted in an increase of 121%. Unlike PR, which had an average of 17 and now has 47 deaths per day, 172% more. The moving average data is generally in decimal numbers and rounded to facilitate the presentation of the data.
- Up (16 states + DF): PR, RS, SC, ES, MG, SP, DF, GO, MS, MT, AC, AP, RO, RR, TO, PE and RN
- In stability, that is, the number of deaths did not decrease or increase significantly (6 states): RJ, PA, BA, CE, MA and PB
- Falling (4 states): AM, AL, PI and SE
This comparison takes into account the average number of deaths in the last 7 days until the publication of this balance compared to the average recorded two weeks ago (understand the criteria that G1 uses to analyze pandemic trends).
