Saud, from MDB, and Loreny, from Citizenship, will compete in the 2nd round in Taubaté, SP | Valley and Region of Paraíba

With 100% of the polls counted, according to data from the Taubaté electoral roll, Saud had 41,201 votes (28.81%), compared to 36,333 for Loreny, which represents 25.4% of the votes. Eduardo, who came in third place, obtained 33,960 – 23.74% of the votes.

During the campaign, the polls already indicated the possibility of a second round to decide who will be the mayor of Taubaté. In both Ibope / Rede Vanguarda polls, candidate Loreny was ahead in voting intentions, but was outscored by Saud’s vote on Sunday.

The second shift with Saud and Loreny represents the breaking of an eight-year cycle of toucan management in the city. During this period, Taubaté was governed by Ortiz Júnior, who named Eduardo as his successor, but the candidate ranked third in the electoral race.

The election in Taubaté had 29.32% abstention, 4.87% white votes and 6.85% null votes.
