The vote in the elections in Rio de Janeiro this Sunday (15) defined the 51 councilors that will make up the City Council of the capital of Rio de Janeiro.
Tarcísio Motta (PSOL) was the most voted, beating Carlos Bolsonaro (Republicans). In 2016, the son of the President of the Republic was in first place with the psolista in second.

Carlos had about 36,000 fewer votes than in the last elections, while the psolista dropped from 90,000 to 86,000. The fall of both occurred in the middle of the historical record of abstention in the municipality, with more than 32%.

Making his debut, the military police officer Gabriel Monteiro (PSD) came in third place, ahead of the experienced Cesar Maia (DEM), father of the president of the Chamber of Deputies, Rodrigo Maia.
The debutant Tainá de Paula (PT) also got a position, as did Monica Benício (PSOL), Marielle Franco’s widow. Marcos Braz (PL), Flamengo’s vice president of football, also got a spot.
