OR IGN he contacted the Montreal police, but they responded with an automated message stating that a “police operation” was underway at the scene and a recommendation to “avoid the area.”

“We are aware of the situation and are working together with the local authorities,” Ubisoft said in a statement to IGN.

The Montreal Journal reported that there may be hostages in the company. However, there is no confirmation from the police.

Ubisoft Montreal officials are sharing updates on their own situation on Twitter. While part of the team works from home, others who were at the company in person are posting on social media.

“I’m not going to share any more information because the police need to deal with this. I made it out of there and I’m fine, I’m just thinking about my colleagues now. Please take care of yourself. Tell people that you love them and etc … You know how does it work.”

“I am safe. My thoughts are with my business colleagues today. Please stay safe.”
