The Civil Police found, in the center of São Paulo, the car that ran over and killed the cycling activist Marina Kohler Harkot. The accident occurred in the Sumaré region, in the Western Zone, on Sunday (8).

The car was transferred to the police station in the early hours of Tuesday (10). The man who appears to be the owner of the vehicle was identified, but claimed the car was sold in 2017, information confirmed by investigations.

As the current owner of the vehicle, the license plate is from Confidentes, Minas Gerais city. The police expect the driver to appear this week, but due to electoral law, voters cannot be detained five days before the elections, which take place this Sunday (15).

Activists and colleagues honored Marina Harkot on Monday (9). They wrote sentences about the avenues Paulo VI and Sumaré.

“Marina is my first daughter, very dear, very determined, very idealistic. And we are totally shattered. She was building a house with her husband, a love, an afterlife. Studying, doing a PhD, engaged. Thanks for being here. and the fight really continues. ‘We are together’, people. Thank you very much, ”said the mother.
