Two radio stations in Spanish in the city of Vigo, in Spain, reported this Monday that Celta had agreed with Eduardo Coudet. The Spanish club recently fired former coach Óscar García Junyent and is now looking for a new commander.

According to Rádio Cope Vigo, Chacho will be Celta’s coach. The statement was also shared by Rádio Vigo.

After the draw with Coritiba, in Beira-Rio, the Inter coach was asked about the possibility of change colorado by the Spanish club and was economical in the responses. Among them, when asked if he had spoken with the Celta leaders, the Argentine immediately replied: “No. They have a coach (Óscar García Junyent) ”. This situation changed with the resignation of Junyent.

If he closes with Celta, Coudet, who at that time was an athlete on the Spanish team, will change the current leader of Brasileirão for 17th place in the Spanish Championship. To leave Inter at this point, the coach will have to pay a millionaire fine, the equivalent of what he would have to receive until December 2021, when his contract ended.

On Sunday, with the tie with Coritiba, at the opening of the return leg of the Brazilian Championship, the Rio Grande do Sul team took the lead in isolation. After the match, the Inter management revealed that they were unaware of his interest in Coudet, but made it clear that they would not be surprised if the coach received proposals.

“As for Celta de Vigo, Coudet, before training in Brazil, had an open market in Europe and, with the campaign at Inter, I have no doubt that European clubs are watching. We, the management, have not received any announcement that he has a proposal from Celta or any other club for Coudet. It wouldn’t surprise me, as he is one of the best coaches in world football, ”said Alexandre Chaves Barcellos.

Even with the team at the top of the table, Inter has experienced internal discussions between the technical committee and the management. The central issue is hiring. More than once, Coudet made it clear that the red team would not be enough to still seek a cup in 2020 and warned that he requested reinforcements for at least three positions. Executive director Rodrigo Caetano, however, reported that the squad could do well in season competitions, with good chances for the title.
