Referees scolding coaches for complaints is usually harsh, with strong words. But referee Ricardo Marques Ribeiro, from Minas Gerais, opted for a different approach with Sport coach Jair Ventura, in Sunday night’s goalless draw with Ceará, for the Brazilian Serie A.

The judge imitated Ventura’s gestures in a theatrical way, with open arms, hands raised and even the same grimace, in an image at least funny. Shortly after, Ricardo Marques Ribeiro whistled the end of the first part and had a friendly conversation with the red-black commander.
Subsequently, the referee’s patience ran out. Jair Ventura ended up getting a yellow card at the end of the second half … by complaint.
