Lyon midfielder Bruno Guimarães was called up this Saturday afternoon by coach Tite for the Brazilian team’s matches against Venezuela and Uruguay on the 13th and 17th of this month. He will replace Casemiro, cut off by testing positive for Covid-19.

This was the fifth loss in the selection for these two games, valid for the third and fourth rounds of the 2022 World Cup Qualifiers. The games are played in Morumbi and at the Centenario Stadium in Montevideo, respectively.

Before, Tite had already lost half Philippe Coutinho, the steering wheel Fabinho and defenders Rodrigo Caio and Éder Militão.

In addition to these problems, coach Tite already knows that he will not be able to count on forward Neymar for the first game, against Uruguay. The Paris Saint-Germain player is in treatment for an injury to the adductor muscle of his left leg.

As a result, Flamengo striker Pedro was called up.

Left-back Alex Telles has recovered from Covid-19 and is free to defend the national team.

The Brazilian men’s soccer team leads the playoffs with two victories in two games: 5-0 over Bolivia and 4-2 against Peru.
