Attacking midfielder Marquinhos Gabriel should no longer wear Cruzeiro’s jersey. After the 1-0 victory over Botafogo-SP, this Friday, in Ribeirão Preto, for the 20th round of Serie B, coach Luiz Felipe Scolari explained the player’s absence with the delegation inside São Paulo saying that the athlete tried to say that he had no head to play.
In this way, Felipão responded to the request of Marquinhos Gabriel, who was not on the list. “He was in my office, he told me that he was not in a defined situation in relation to a series of details within Cruzeiro, that he did not have any thoughts at that moment in the game and that he had some difficulties in relation to thinking about the game. So I thought it was better to leave it in Belo Horizonte ”, he justified.
Felipão went further and revealed that he left the case to the Cruzeiro board of directors, who must look for Marquinhos Gabriel to define the player’s future.
“Possibly the management will talk to Marquinhos about the possibility of a loan for another club, which they have already asked us, about the arrangements and things that are not in my area. In the technical aspect, I already gave my opinion to the management ”, he stressed.
Marquinhos Gabriel was reinstated in the Cruzeiro squad in September, after a frustrated loan to Atlético-PR. The player chose to leave the Huracán, where he was on loan until the end of this year, after the resignation of coach Dorival Júnior. However, upon his return to Raposa, the attacking midfielder had performances below criticism and had been criticized by much of the crowd.
