The body of Benjamín Nunes de Jesús, a 4-year-old boy who had been searched since his disappearance on the beach of Santa Cruz dos Navegantes, in Guarujá, on the coast of São Paulo, was found this morning at sea.
The family made the recognition at the time the body was taken out of the sea, according to information from the city’s Fire Department in Twitter.
The firefighters would begin another day of searches in the same region of the disappearance, but the fishermen who went out to sea early in the morning noticed the body floating, which was later recognized by Benjamin’s family.
The child disappeared on Tuesday (3). Since then, teams of land and sea firefighters have searched the sea and on a forest trail known as Pouca Flour, near where Benjamin was last seen. In addition to the rescue teams, a drone also flew over the region.
Disappearance
The boy disappeared around 2 p.m. on Tuesday, when the mother, confectioner Ana Cristina de Souza Nunes, took her son to spend the day on the beach. The boy was playing with another boy when he saw his father passing by. After distancing herself to speak, she went back to playing with her friend, and soon after she lost sight of her mother.
