André de Camargo Aranha, a businessman very close to soccer players and the medium and often seen in the company of big names in sport, was on trial for having raped Mariana Ferrer in 2018. The accused was found not guilty with the unpublished sentence. “culpable violation” – a term not foreseen in Brazilian legislation -.
The “end point” in the case of the young woman caused a lot of commotion on social networks, mainly due to the sentence and the images published by the The Intercept Brazil, which show the promoter being humiliated by Aranha’s lawyer.
