Joe Biden and Donald Trump are running this Tuesday, November 3, for a presidential election that should break a record participation record, with more than 150 million votes, a figure that becomes even more impressive when remembering that voting is not required in the United States.

  • Follow the voting day and count in REAL TIME
  • When the polls close: MAP will show the vote state by state

Polls point to the Democrat as the favorite over the Republican, exhausted by his management of the pandemic. Biden still has an advantage in 2 of the 3 states that can define the outcome and is leaning against the president in Texas, a Republican stronghold. See the numbers and graphs here.

  • Watch out: see which states can decide the elections
  • Whoever wins 270 delegates in the electoral college wins; understand the system

However, it is not yet known when the winner will be announced. Unlike in 2016, when Trump was confirmed victorious the morning after Election Day, the count is expected to take longer. This is because some states only begin counting votes that arrive in the mail after the polls close.

Further, Trump threatens to challenge the votes by mail, which this year began to be adopted throughout the country, because of the coronavirus. The Republican has repeated, without proof, that there will be fraud if the ballots can be received after the 3rd, as required by law in some states.

The issue it is also considering the American elections. There is only one consensus on the finish line of the White House 2020 campaign: this is the most important choice of all. Listen and understand.

The report of the Medico-Legal Institute, to which Globo had access, indicates that the actor and comedian suffered a hemorrhagic stroke, caused by an aneurysm.

The leaders of the parties of the House and the Senate meet to try to reach an agreement on the vote on the payroll exemption of sectors of the economy. The president of the National Congress, Davi Alcolumbre (DEM-AP), stated that he intends to put the issue under discussion in tomorrow’s session.

By sanctioning the provisional measure that allowed the reduction of working hours and wages during the pandemic, President Jair Bolsonaro vetoed the section that provided for the extension until 2021 of the corporate payroll exemption.

But the last word will fall on the parliamentarians. Deputies and senators can revoke the veto and restore the text sent for sanction.

Municipal, state and private schools can resume regular face-to-face high school classes in the city of São Paulo starting this Tuesday. Back to school is optional. The resumption was authorized by the City Council in October. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, regular face-to-face classes have been suspended since March in the capital.

The country registered 168 deaths from Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, reaching a total of 160,272 deaths. There are 5,553,378 Brazilians who have had or have the new coronavirus.

The Central Bank begins the first stage of PIX operations, the new electronic payment system in Brazil. In this first phase, which will act as proof of the new modality, only the clients selected by the banks will have access to all the functionalities.
