With books published in several languages, Nélida Piñon was the first woman to preside over the Brazilian Academy of Letters. Descendant of a Spanish family from Galicia, the Iberian world is present in his work. In his most recent book, Um Dia Arriba a Sagres, the main character was created by his grandfather, in a 19th century Portuguese town. In this work, he also proposes a highly relevant reflection: utopias are not a privilege of the rich, but are open to all.
