Two NSC TV professionals were attacked this Monday morning (2) on the beach in Campeche, in Florianopolis, while making a report. The team recorded images of disrespect for the state decree that stipulates rules against coronavirus pandemic.
> SC has a holiday with crowds and lack of respect for state decrees
The idea was to present the report live from the beach. In the place were the reporter Bárbara Barbosa and the cameraman Renato Soder. They were surrounded by people who did not want to be recorded on the beach, where they were violating state regulations that prohibit staying on the strip of sand.
Some people advanced towards the camera, threatening to break the equipment if the equipment did not stop recording. Later, other people tried to take the journalist’s cell phone, which she used to record the assault.
The reporter was surrounded by part of the group and had marks of aggression on her arms. The events occurred in front of a lifeguard post. There were no officers of the Military Police or the Municipal Guard on the beach.
> MP who recommended leaving without a mask will be investigated by the MP
NSC TV called the Municipal Guard and the Military Police, and will record a report on the threat and aggression suffered by the two professionals.
NSC Comunicação issued the following note regarding:
The attack and aggression against the NSC team, this Monday in Praia do Campeche, are an attempt to impede the work of the press, to make the facts known to the public, which is guaranteed by the Federal Constitution. Attitudes like this, which we unfortunately show at the Jornal do Lunch, are being repeated throughout the country. But they reveal and reinforce the importance of our work. Aggressors will be held accountable for their actions.
And we will continue to do what we do: professional, independent and essential journalism for society in Santa Catarina.
