When Ferroviário reported the removal of five athletes from the squad, the crowd was shocked. After all, these are not underused players, but names that played frequently. This Sunday, after losing at home to Treze in Serie C, coach Marcelo Vilar explained the reasons. And one of them shocked the fans of the Ceará club even more.

According to the coach, forward Wesley was released after threatening to kill a teammate. Vilar did not elaborate. Without revealing who the harassed player was and for what reasons, he acknowledged that the situation had become untenable.
– The player could not continue in such a situation within the squad. We knew about the problems he had off the field, he did not expect it. But, from the moment this happened, it is difficult for any commander, any board, within a cast of 36 players, to keep one player threatening another – he summarized.

Vilar said Wesley had been hired at his request. The attacking midfielder made his debut on August 10. In total, he participated in ten games and scored two goals. The most recent in the 1-0 win over Remo, the last for Ferroviário.
Three other players – Siloé, Magno and Tiago Costa – left due to a less serious problem, but one that also draws attention. According to Vilar, they were no longer satisfied with the work that was being done and they complained very often.
– They didn’t believe in work. All the time with dissatisfaction. And we don’t want anybody dissatisfied within the group. The group has 36 players and the well-being of the 36 players is more interesting than that of two, three players – said Vilar.

Ferroviário, who came to occupy the G-4 of Group A of Series C, is going through a crisis on and off the field. The team is coming off a win and four losses in the last five games, which has left the qualifying zone for the next stage. Next Saturday, the team will visit Manaus, at Arena Amazônia.
