André Marques, a close friend, said he was the first to arrive at the house of Tom Veiga, an actor who played the Louro José doll from the TV show “Mais Você” on TV Globo. Veiga was found dead at his home in Barra da Tijuca, west of Rio. The cause of death is unknown.

Louro José was created by Ana Maria Braga in 1996, reports the “Memória Globo” website. At that time, he presented the program “Note e Anote”, on Record, and wanted a mascot that would also attract the attention of children.
Tom Veiga played Louro from the beginning. He worked as a studio assistant for “Note e Anote” and, one day, took the puppet to play with his colleagues. Ana María Braga saw it, liked it and asked him to do it live the next day. It worked and Louro became an inseparable companion of Ana María.
Between Record and Globo, Tom Veiga had worked with Ana María for more than 20 years.
