Last morning (31), groups took to the streets of Spanish cities to protest the state of emergency decreed by the Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez. Imposed curfew from 11 pm to 6 am in all regions of the country, except in the Canary Islands, to contain the spread of the pandemic in Europe.
For the second night in a row, in Madrid, dozens of protesters threw stones at the police, who responded with rubber bullets. According to the French newspaper “Le Monde”, twelve people were slightly injured and 32 were arrested.
In Barcelona, groups set garbage containers on fire and also clashed with the authorities.

In response to the attacks, the Spanish Prime Minister posted a critique of the demonstrations on Twitter.
“Only with responsibility, unity and sacrifice can we defeat the pandemic that is devastating all countries. The violent and irrational behavior of minority groups is intolerable. It’s not the way, ”Sánchez wrote.

Spain, one of the most affected countries in Europe, has more than 35,000 deaths from Covid-19 and 1.1 million cases of the disease.
