Uriah Hall immediately apologized to Anderson Silva after knocking him out this Saturday. The scene was exciting, but quite unusual for a combat sport. Therefore, the Jamaican explained why he was so moved and decided to apologize.
“I felt bad, man. I felt bad! I mean, in building the fight there were a lot of emotions, and we know Anderson is one of the geniuses because of what he did for the sport. A guy who inspired me as a kid, even when I was 22 years old. It was difficult to separate those emotions, fight my idol and beat him. Then the emotions just came out. Even today when I woke up, I was thinking ‘shit, how am I going to deal with this?’ So, yeah, I did apologize, ”Hall said, still puzzled, at the press conference.
The emotional scene took place literally right after the knockout. Hall knelt in front of Anderson, began to cry, tell him he loved him and apologize.
But, Despite the knockout, the fight was not easy. Spider appeared to be in control of the actions until the end of the third round, when he suffered the first knockdown.
“What makes Anderson difficult to deal with is his creativity. He is very creative. It’s easy to get lost, we’ve seen it happen multiple times in his career. It was very risky and my coaches always told me to keep things simple, “Hall said.
“It was a bit strange at first, I was trying to figure it out, I knew I had a plan, I was trying to figure it out. But his distance was good and then I realized ‘wow, maybe I can’t touch him’ and I thought it should be on the counter. But I had a good distance, I kept moving to the right and I didn’t want to rush and fall because I knew it was a trap, “he added.
The fight marked Anderson Silva UFC. President Dana White has already warned that she will no longer let him fight for the organization. Spider, however, still left open the possibility of fighting elsewhere.
