With each jump along the net, Fernanda Garay made it look easy. It didn’t matter who was on the other side. On Saturday night, the Olympic champion set the pace and ignored any pressure from a final. Through his hands, in the best individual performance of the competition, Praia Clube dominated Sesc-Flamengo on the court of the Volleyball Development Center in Saquarema. With ease, the Uberlândia team beat Rubro-Negro by 3 sets to 0, partials 25/22, 25/14 and 27/25, and won the Super Volleyball title.

Garay class, Praia title
A blow from Ana Cristina, with a deviation in the blocking, opened the account in the match. It was an intense pace, with strong marks on both sides. While Sesc-Flamengo bet on the attacks of the young promise, Praia exploited his strength in the block and the talent of Fernanda Garay. The tip was the factor of imbalance on the court. The Uberlândia team, little by little, was also ahead of the hand of the Dominican Brayelin Martínez. In the end, in another attack by Garay, Praia closed the set on 25/22.

Praia Clube accelerated back to the field. Martínez and Garay stayed on the court and led the Uberlândia team to 4-0 on the scoreboard with ease. Bernardinho asked for time and tried to hit the house. It didn’t work. The lead rose to 7/1. With each attempted reaction from Sesc-Flamengo, Praia responded with force. Without resistance from the other side, Garay let go of his arm to open 12/22 and bring the team even closer to the close of the second set. Claudinha, in a block, closed on 25/14.
Sesc-Flamengo tried to grow. The passing line improved, Ana Cristina grew, and Praia Clube no longer had the same facility as the previous set. In another attack by the young red and black, the Rio team opened 9/6 and Paulo Coco stopped the game. It worked. In an Anne Buijs ace, everything is the same. The turn came in sequence, after a perfect ascent from Suelen to Garay. The scoreboard soon marked 12/9 in favor of the miners.
Cariocas returned to look for the result and narrowed the difference. With a beautiful serve from Juma, the tie came on 17/17. Praia opened again, but Sabrina, who came from the bench, put Sesc-Flamengo ahead on the scoreboard with two points in a row: 22/21. Bernardinho’s team even had a set point, but the reaction again collided with the talent of the rivals. The team took the lead at the end and closed the match on 27/25.
