An operation of the Federal District Military Police (PMDF), in the early hours of this Saturday (10/31), saved the life of a woman and her 2-year-old son. Both were threatened by the victim’s partner, who, armed with a knife, surrendered after more than three hours of negotiation.

According to information from the corporation, the team went to the Lucio Costa Housing Sector, in Guará, to investigate the occurrence of domestic violence.

Upon reaching the address, around 11 p.m., the team found the woman screaming for help from the building’s first-floor window. She said that the partner had a knife, threatening her with death, in addition to the child.

The team entered through the entrance of the building and, on the access stairs to the 1st floor, noticed when the woman took advantage of the arrival of the military and broke part of the door to escape the apartment.

Soon after, the man appeared with the child on his arm and said that he would not turn himself in and that he would just leave the dead place.

After the first negotiations, the man returned to the interior of the apartment and appeared again at the door, with firearm ammunition, saying that he would only get out of there with a shot to the head. Given this, it was necessary to activate the support of the Special Operations Battalion (BOPE).

After more than 3 hours of conversations, with no progress, the tactical team entered the department and arrested the aggressor.

The boy was not injured. The child and the father were treated by the DF Military Fire Department (CBMDF) and released. The man had some superficial wounds, caused by himself. All were transferred to the Special Police Station for Women (Deam) to record the police incident.

The man was charged with the crimes of illegal coercion, threat, illegal possession of a firearm (ammunition) and factual means.
