Romano dos Anjos, a 40-year-old journalist, kidnapped from his own home, was found alive in the Bom Intento region, a rural area of Boa Vista, on Tuesday morning (27). The information was disclosed by the Secretary of Public Security, Edison Prola.
Romano dos Anjos was at home having dinner with his wife when hooded and armed bandits invaded the property at around 8:40 pm this Monday (26), in the Aeroporto district, west zone.
The journalist was found blindfolded and his hands and feet tied, said Colonel Miramilton de Souza, deputy commander of the Roraima Military Police. Wounded, he was transferred to the emergency room of the General Hospital of Roraima (HGR).
“He was found by an employee of Roraima Energia who was taking a measure in a rural area, on the second bridge of Bom Intento. They found him with his arms and legs tied. He was injured, conscious, but a little shaken,” he said. colonel, who accompanied Romano’s arrival at the HGR.
Romano was taken to the hospital in a fire ambulance. The military used a thermal blanket to assist. A photo circulating on social media shows the journalist inside the ambulance, smiling in a selfie with the general delegate of the Civil Police, Herbert Amorim.

At HGR, you must perform X-ray examinations to identify if a limb has been broken. The journalist told the doctors that they brutally beat him with sticks.
Romano was kidnapped from his home and taken away in his own car. Minutes later, the vehicle was found on BR-174, heading north, before the Río Cauamé bridge. Romano’s cell phone, also taken in the crime, was found by the police in a vacant lot and the information was erased.
Romano dos Anjos is the host of TV Imperial, affiliated with Rede Record in Roraima. Also on Monday night, Sesp announced that, following the kidnapping, he called the intelligence service to investigate the case.
