The candidate for councilor arrested for the crime of drug trafficking on Monday night was identified as Noemi da Silva, from the Liberal Party (PL). It was the largest marijuana seizure of the year, according to information from the Military Police. The prime minister called it a flagrant arrest, but justice will still listen to all those detained.
The operation resulted in the seizure of 190 kilograms of marijuana, four firearms, 230 ammunition, R $ 17,000 and the arrest of three people involved.
The action took place at Rua Erich Belz, in the Central Itoupava neighborhood, around 8:50 p.m., after receiving information that a residence was being used for storing narcotics.
After observing suspicious movement in the residence, the police decided to approach two vehicles that were leaving the place. With the driver of a Yamaha XT motorcycle, a 26-year-old man, the PM found approximately 1 kg of marijuana inside the backpack.
The white VW Fox car was driven by a 26-year-old man and had a passenger, Noemi, the driver’s girlfriend and also a candidate for councilor. Both did not deliver relevant information to the PM, they only reported that they were leaving their mother’s house.
In the home, the mother of one of the suspects reported that there were other illegal materials, and a large quantity of marijuana was located in one of the rooms. The drug totaled 190 kilos.
In addition, four firearms were also located, a 36 caliber shotgun, a 12 caliber shotgun, a 380 caliber carbine, a 380 caliber revolver; about 230 munitions of various calibers, precision balances and R $ 17 thousand in kind.
The three implicated were referred to the Central Police. The illicit material was seized and also transferred to the police station.
