Dome praises Flamengo’s position, but regrets a draw with Inter: “We lost two points” | Flamengo

In a post-match interview, the coach considered that the scoreboard fell short of what he could in the face of his team’s performance in the second half.

– I think we are all clear that Flamengo is never satisfied with the draw. I think Flamengo lost two points. The draw was not enough, we have to try to win the three points because Flamengo is different. Flamengo has to win every game. We changed things in the first half. The Internacional coach said they deserved to win. We also created many opportunities in the second half and lost two points, the coach analyzed.

Dome also avoided controversy when asked if the referee kept silent on the penalty shoot-out for the Rio team. However, he refuted criticism, according to him, from the press and others who say that Flamengo benefits from VAR.

– I’ll never talk about the referees. I don’t like to talk about it, so it doesn’t seem like an excuse. But I don’t understand when the press or other people said that the VAR benefited Flamengo. I didn’t see what happened during the game, but it works for the press or for people who say that. I don’t know why the referee didn’t call the VAR. But don’t say that the VAR benefits Flamengo, please – he said.

– We have an excellent cast. I like to talk about the players who played today. Everyone knows that we don’t have Rodrigo (Caio), Arrascaeta, everyone knows it.
