São Paulo registers floods due to the heavy rains that hit the city this Sunday (25). The Center for Climate Emergency Management (CGE) put the entire city in a state of attention for floods at 11:28 am.
As of 12:30 pm, the CGE recorded three flood points, all in the “impassable” category. They are Praça das Bandeiras, in the Center, Rua Presidente Batista Pereira, in Mooca, and Av. Vinte e Três de Maio, in Vila Mariana. The report of Twitter it also identified floods in the Consolação region, on Caio Prado and Gravataí streets.
According to the CGE, there are points of “strong intensity with lightning and gusts of wind, which increases the potential for flooding. During the afternoon the weather remains unstable and there are conditions for new areas of rain in Greater São Paulo.”
To mitigate the effects of flooding, the CGE recommends avoiding traffic on flooded streets, avoiding currents, trying to stay safe, staying away from the power grid, and not stopping under trees.
