Pelotas applied a historic defeat in São Caetano this Saturday, in a match valid for the ninth round of Serie D of Brasileirão. There was a strong 9 to 0 in the São Paulo rival, in the middle of the Anacleto Campanella stadium. The gaucho club now holds the mark of having applied the greatest win in the history of the competition.
The game took place in a turbulent context in São Caetano. The team had to choose the athletes from the base categories after players of the professional group and members of the coaching staff decided not to go to the field, in protest at the salary delay. The solution with the boys was a way to avoid WO.
The strategy, however, went very wrong in the first half, when the match ended 6-0 for Pelotas, as well as a São Caetano player sent off. In the second half, there were three more goals from the Rio Grande do Sul team.
Ramires, Itaqui (twice), Ariel (twice, Mateus Santana, Marcão (twice) and Tatá scored the goals of Pelotas, who now lead Group 8 of Serie D, with 15 points. São Caetano is the lantern of the key, with five.
