A year ago, Raúl Sá, 13, came up with an idea: to buy a piano. To get the money he needed, he chose a different path and started selling homemade breads that he himself makes at his home, in Jundiaí (SP).
The taste for music came from a very young age, influenced by parents. Over time, the teenager began taking keyboard lessons, but when he saw a piano at school, he fell in love and decided that he would have his own instrument.
The bread recipe was taught by his mother, Meriele, and since then Raúl has perfected the techniques and even began to teach his younger brother. “I had never been interested in cooking, but my mother encouraged me a lot and I ended up getting a taste for it,” she says.

At first the sales were for family and close friends, but, some time later, Raúl saw that he needed to go further and decided to create an Instagram account to publicize the work.
“From there, more people began to be interested and to get in touch to buy the bread,” he says.
After that, there were many batches and almost a year of dedication until the teenager managed to collect the necessary amount to buy the piano so dreamed of.
“It was a feeling of joy, mixed with relief and pride in myself. It is gratifying to see that all my effort over a whole year has paid off,” he says.

But it was not always easy. Raul told the G1 who even considered leaving the business after the coronavirus pandemic began.
“The vast majority of my clients were from my school or took orders there. I also sold the bread in a bakery in Jundiaí. But with the pandemic I lost many sales and I came to think that I could never collect the money.” , He says.

However, willpower and faith did not let Raúl give up. The goal was to be able to buy the instrument in September, after completing a year of sales.
“I prayed a lot to know what to do. Until one day my father brought some friends home, they tried my bread and I loved it. They all bought it. That’s when I started to feel inspired again, ”he says.
Now, with the goal accomplished, Raúl says that he intends to continue with the sales, since he found something that he likes to do. “I also want to have my own money to, who knows, buy a Father’s Day or Mother’s Day gift and even things that I like,” he says.
According to the teenager, the support and encouragement of the parents during the day was essential. For the mother, Meriele, accompanying her son on this experience was a learning experience for her as well.

“For us parents, supporting them in their dreams is a great learning experience. We help Raúl to take care of his stock of supplies, communicate with his clients, take care of finances and manage production. We believe that this learning is valuable for his life regardless of what he will follow in his adult life as a career, ”he says.
