The Court of Justice of Minas Gerais (TJMG) suspended the return of lessons attendance in private schools in the state this Friday (23). The decision of Judge Rogrio Santos Arajo Abreu, of Court 5 of Public Fazenda e Autarquias of BH, complies with the request of the State Teachers Union (Sinpro Minas).

The union moved the to after the government of Romeu Zema (Novo) allowed the resumption of classroom activities in schools located in cities included in the green wave of Minas Consciente.

This stage of make flexible government is less restricted. It allows, for example, the holding of fairs, the operation of bars with live music, the reopening of cinemas, etc.

Sinpro Minas argued that an eventual Return classes would put teachers, students, parents and the entire school community at risk amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The decision applies to all mining towns, with the exception of Juiz de Fora.

This is because, according to Justia, the city located in the Zona da Mata in Minas Gerais is not part of the state’s teacher union base.
