The head of drug trafficking in the city of Três Rios and the mountainous region of Rio was arrested on Thursday afternoon 22 in Salvador (BA). Nei Carlos Souza da Silva, known as TI Baiano, was found in a luxury hotel with his family, in Praia de Ondina, in the capital of Bahia. The arrest was carried out by agents of the 108 DP (Três Rios), with the support of the 106 DP (Itaipava) and the Secretariat of Intelligence of Bahia. According to the investigations, the prisoner is the chief of drug trafficking in União Park, in Complexo da Maré, in the North Zone of Rio. Levy Gasparian, considered one of the faction’s most aggressive traffickers in the region, responsible for other killings.
– He is one of the leaders of drug trafficking in the mountainous region, with a boom in all communities. In the last two months, he was responsible for being responsible for at least seven homicides in TrÊs Ríos. After that, we started monitoring him and found out he was in Salvador. According to investigations, on the holiday of September 7, a teenager was taken by traffickers to a remote region of Três Rios and coldly executed with shots to the head. The crime was filmed and disseminated in order to cause fear to the residents of the town. Investigations also indicate that the criminal gave weapons to communities in the mountainous region. He was already being investigated for the massacre of five young people in Três Rios last year.

In that crime, the victims, all men, were between 20 and 21 years old. Four of the victims were returning from a party to Três Rios, a nearby town where they lived. They were riding two motorcycles when the occupants of a car passed by and shot them. A third motorcycle was also attacked, with two other people. One of the injured children also died.

Another crime that TI Baiano is said to have ordered occurred in July this year. A 20-year-old was killed and seven people were injured during a July 30 shooting in Três Rios. The family of one of the victims said they were celebrating a birthday when the crime occurred. One of the injured was a 4-year-old girl. Witnesses said two men passed a motorcycle and started shooting multiple times.

TI Baiano has five arrest warrants against him, all with convictions: two in Pernambuco and three in Rio de Janeiro.
