The club didn’t even have to make it official. Technician Renato Portaluppi confirmed the signing of the center forward Diego Churin, from Cerro Porteño, at a press conference after the 1-1 draw with América de Cali, for the last day of the Libertadores group stage, this Thursday.
As reported by the ge, the Tricolor already had a deal when hiring the Argentine forward. It was left to the coach to guarantee the deal and to continue advancing the negotiations in another half.
– We brought Churín, a player who will help us a lot. As it happened with the center forward, Churín, maybe we will find this midfielder. Basically, we found it. It remains to be seen if it will be financially correct – Renato declared.

In the match against América de Cali, Grêmio missed a penalty with Robinho, scored against Kannemann seconds later and only tied on the last play. Diego Souza converted a new penalty. Renato valued first place in Group E more than performance.
– Today (Thursday) we were not well. But it is difficult, four or five different players all the time. The chemistry is not the same. We know that we have to improve. The responsibility is all mine. It is useless to play every game well and be second or not qualify. It was not Grêmio, but we achieved the goal – he pointed out.
Classified in the second round of the Libertadores as first place, Grêmio awaits the draw this Friday, in Conmebol, to face the next rival. The event is scheduled for 12 noon and will be followed in real time by the give.
