The director general of the Butantan Institute, Dimas Covas, said that the National Sanitary Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) is hindering the production of the CoronaVac vaccine by delaying the authorization to import raw materials from China. The information is from the columnist Mônica Bergamo, from Folha de S. Paulo.

According to Dimas, there was a request for the product launch on September 23 to manufacture 40 million doses. However, on Thursday (22), the president of Butantan said that the matter will be discussed in a meeting on November 11.
Dimas said that if the launch occurs in November, the production of the first doses of the vaccine will only be ready in January, delaying a large-scale immunization of the Brazilian population.
