The New Party decided on Wednesday (21) to expel the candidate for mayor of São Paulo, Filipe Sabará from the caption. The decision came after an administrative process opened by the Party’s Ethics Committee for alleged inconsistencies in its study plan. TO G1, Sabará stated that will continue with the campaign and he says that he is the object of internal persecution by the party.
The expulsion decision was communicated by the National Directorate of Novo in a document sent to the members. The party says that while the candidate can still appeal, it will have no effect on suspending the expulsion.
“Filipe Sabará is officially expelled and no longer belongs to Novo’s affiliated group,” the text says. (Read the full text below)
When the analysis was opened in the ethics committee, the party had already temporarily suspended Sabará’s affiliation rights, but the candidate obtained a preliminary order in the Electoral Court to continue the campaign.
“I expected it [a expulsão] because since the beginning of this persecution with me, they have been creating various things. First it was Maluf’s business, then it’s about my resume. Completely unreasonable complaints, especially since I was analyzed in the selection process of the party itself. And then after [João] Amoedo decided to get angry with me, these stories began ”, Sabará said this Wednesday.
Sabará said he remains a candidate, backed by a TSE decision that authorized him to keep the campaign when NOVO suspended his membership rights. The Regional Electoral Tribunal (TRE-SP) affirmed that Sabará continues to be a candidate, despite the fact that the application to register his candidacy “is in time to appeal to the Electoral Tribunal.”
“I went to court and won, so today I have a protection from the TSE. Even if they expel me, I am still a candidate. I have the application approved, approved by the TRE, by the TSE, I will continue. Justice must be greater than the They should at least respect the law, since they do not respect the candidates themselves, “he said.

In a statement sent to the press, Sabará assured that “he will go to the last consequences so that everyone knows the truth” about his expulsion from the caption.
“João Amoedo and his” henchmen “caught in front of him an honest person who does not accept injustice and who goes to the extreme so that everyone knows the truth,” said the candidate. (see full text below).

The process in the party’s ethics committee was opened after the Armando Álvares Penteado Foundation (FAAP) denied the information that was revealed by the Sabará campaign that the candidate was pursuing a postgraduate degree in City Management at the institution.
According to the FAAP, Sabará attended only one semester of the entity’s International Relations course in 2003. At that time, the Sabará press office stated that “it never said that it graduated from FAAP.”
“He did some subjects there and used the credit to graduate from the São Paulo College. We don’t know [de onde surgiu a informação]”said the candidate’s advisor.
