Brazil has 154,243 deaths from coronavirus confirmed as of 8 am this Tuesday (20)according to a survey by the media consortium based on data from state health departments.
Since the balance of 8 pm on Monday (19), 2 states have updated their data: GO and RR.
See consolidated figures:
- 154,243 confirmed deaths
- 5,251,416 confirmed cases
On Monday, at 8:00 p.m., the balance indicated: 154,226 confirmed deaths, 341 in 24 hours. With that, the moving average of deaths in Brazil in the last 7 days was 502, again going back above the 500 mark.
This means a variation of -23% in relation to the data recorded in 14 days, that is, it indicates a downward trend. The country reaches the eighth day with the death curve indicating a fall, after 28 days in stability.
In confirmed cases, 5,251,127 Brazilians have had or have the new coronavirus since the start of the pandemic, with 18,586 of those confirmed on the last day. The moving average of new cases was 21,218 per day, a variation of -22% compared to cases registered in 14 days.
Only two states show an increase in deaths: Paraíba, Piauí and Rio Grande do Norte.
It is worth mentioning that there are states in which the low average number of deaths can lead to large percentage variations. In NB, the average was 3 and went to 19 in the interval of 14 days, which led to a variation of 500%. This occurred after the insertion of 111 deaths last Friday in the state bulletin. Moving average data is generally in decimal numbers and rounded to facilitate presentation of the data.
Another 17 states have curves that point to declines, considering the data of the previous day for RR.
- Top (3 states): PB, PI and RN
- In stability, that is, the number of deaths did not decrease or increase significantly (7 states): RS, ES, RJ, RO, AL, MA and SE
- Falling (16 states + DF): PR, SC, MG, SP, DF, GO, MS, MT, AC, AM, AP, PA, RR *, TO, BA, CE and PE
This comparison takes into account the average deaths in the last 7 days until the publication of this balance in relation to the average recorded two weeks ago (know the criteria used by G1 to analyze pandemic trends).

Data on cases and deaths from coronavirus in Brazil were obtained after an unprecedented association between G1, O Globo, Extra, O Estado de S.Paulo, Folha de S.Paulo and UOL, which began to work, from June 8, in a collaborative way to collect the necessary information in the 26 states and the Federal District (know plus).
