A CNN Brazil announces the hiring of the presenter Marcio gomes, one of the most recognized journalists on Brazilian television. After 21 years on the air in Rede Globo, the presenter becomes the main name of the expansion of CNN operations in the country, an innovative project that will be released to the market in the coming weeks, reinforcing the multiplatform nature of the company in Brazil.
About to turn 50, Márcio Gomes graduated in Journalism in 1992 from the Pontificia Universidad Católica (PUC) in Rio de Janeiro. Despite having been born and studied in the Rio de Janeiro capital, he started his career at TV Globo in São Paulo. In two decades with the company, he was a reporter, host of the group’s news channel, host of national programs, and international correspondent in Tokyo, Japan.
Márcio Gomes leaves TV Globo as one of the few journalists who has broadcast all the daily news on the station: ‘Jornal Nacional’, ‘Bom Dia Brasil’, the two local editions of São Paulo and Rio, ‘Jornal Hoje’ and ‘Jornal da Globo ‘.
The journalist is considered one of the most prominent on television for his performance in covering the Covid-19 pandemic.
