Christ the Redeemer is lit in green in honor of Doctor’s Day; PHOTOS | Rio de Janeiro

The celebration of the Rio de Janeiro postcard was promoted by the Rio de Janeiro State Regional Council of Medicine (Cremerj). The goal is to thank all doctors for their dedication and commitment, especially during the new coronavirus pandemic.

Professionals who died as a result of the disease were also honored.

“With this honor, we want to embrace all our colleagues at this difficult time, in addition to offering a message of hope. We know that many had to leave their homes to avoid exposing their families. Difficult decisions were needed at work, too. We lost loved ones. As the City Council that represents this profession, we are proud and excited because, every day, a stage is won ”, said the president of Cremerj, Walter Palis.

Before the illumination, a mass was celebrated in the chapel located at the base of the Christ, celebrated by Don Antonio Augusto Dias Duarte -also a doctor. The ceremony was restricted and the rules of social distance were respected.
