President Jair Bolsonaro criticized the government of Alberto Fernández in Argentina this Saturday morning, 17. By alleging that Brazil was losing freedom around 2014, the representative also cited Venezuela to oppose his mandate and position itself politically in the region.
“Today we are witnessing a country further north (Venezuela) where the Armed Forces have decided to take another path. Freedom, those people, our brother, was lost ”, he said. “Further south, another country (Argentina) seems to want to follow the same path. I ask God to make a mistake, I ask God to save our brothers further south.”
Bolsonaro went to the Agulhas Negras Military Academy (Aman), in the municipality of Resende, to participate in the ceremony of delivery of marlin to the cadets of the Centennial Class of the French Military Mission in Brazil. The vice president, Hamilton Mourão, and the ministers of Defense, Fernando Azevedo e Silva, of the Civil House, Braga Netto, and of Infrastructure, Tarcísio de Freitas, were with him in the south of Rio de Janeiro, in addition to the federal deputies Mayor Vitor Hugo (PSL-GO) and Hélio Lopes (PSL-RJ).
In addition to addressing the politics of neighboring countries, the president commented that he hopes to be with the cadets again in 2023, when the gang that received the swords this morning graduates from Aman, Bolsonaro’s first term will have ended. He asked God that he could be president again and attend graduation.
Bolsonaro arrived in Aman without speaking to the press. On the short walk between the Hotel Transit and the Academy, he greeted supporters and guards who controlled access to the event. Closed, the ceremony was broadcast on TV Brasil.
By Friday night, Bolsonaro was already in the south of Rio de Janeiro. He visited a Federal Highway Police station without a mask, went to eat hot dogs and posed for photos with supporters in the stroller he always frequents when in town. The president served in the military in Aman in the 1970s.
