In an interval of just 24 hours, the Civil Police of Rio murdered at least 17 alleged members of the Bonde do Ecko, considered one of the largest militias in the country, in two operations in the municipalities of Baixada Fluminense.
The last one occurred last night, in Itaguaí (RJ), leaving 12 suspects dead. Among them, former military policeman Carlos Eduardo Benevides Gomes, known as Bené, designated as one of the group’s leaders on Rio’s most wanted criminals list.
