The Fire Department found the body of a man in Lake Paranoá this Tuesday morning (10/13). According to the corporation, the body has the same characteristics as Luis Gabriel da Silva Oliveira, 27, who disappeared while taking a speedboat last Saturday (10/10). The identity will be confirmed by the expert. Luis Gabriel’s family will also be recognized.
Luis Gabriel fell into the waters of Lake Paranoá, near the central arch of the Juscelino Kubitschek Bridge on Saturday night, while walking with friends.
Around 7:20 pm, the firefighters were called and received the information that the boat was traveling slowly, but still, the boy fell from the boat. Witnesses called for help immediately, but the victim suddenly sank.
The Rescue Group began an emergency search, but could not locate the boy. As visibility was low, searches were interrupted and resumed early Sunday morning (11/10), without success, they resumed on Monday (12/10).
At 6:31 am on Tuesday (10/13), the Fire Department found the body of a young man, with a beard, without a shirt and shorts. The information is similar to the characteristics transmitted by the witnesses, of what Luis Gabriel was like before he fell from the boat.
