A 1 year and 5 month old boy was attacked and killed by a Chow-Chow dog in Fazenda Patos, in a region known as Cachoeira do Paiol, in the city of Frei Inocêncio (45 km from Governador Valadares), in the East. of Minas.
The Military Police reported that the boy’s father, upon seeing the dog attack, came to his daughter’s defense, and was also attacked by the dog, giving him several bites.
The attack occurred late in the afternoon this Sunday (11). After being released from the animal’s claws, the girl was transferred to the São Geraldo Municipal Hospital, in Frei Inocêncio.
According to the Military Police, the doctor on duty reported that the girl arrived at the hospital alive, but with many injuries caused by the dog’s bites, on the face, neck, head and neck. Despite all the efforts of the doctor and nurses, the girl died in hospital.

The dog that attacked and killed the boy is of a breed of Chinese origin and has a docile appearance. And he seemed docile, so much so that the boy, according to the father told the Military Police who attended the incident, had a habit of always playing with the dog. He said he bought Chow-Chow four months ago. The father assumes that the dog was made aggressive by another dog that appeared on the farm and left him agitated.
